About this tracker

The AI at Work Tracker is a weekly, anonymous survey run by Professionals Australia. Every week, contributors answer six short questions, which take under 30 seconds, about how AI is changing their work: whether it's been introduced or mandated, whether they're training or correcting it, whether roles have disappeared, and how secure their job feels. The result is a public, week-on-week record of what AI is actually doing to Australian jobs, told by the people living it.

How data is collected

Contributors sign up with an email address so we can send a personal survey link each week. Each link is tied to a single random token, never to a name in the results. The six core questions stay the same every week so the sentiment line can be graphed over time. Optional follow-ups only appear when an answer suggests something significant happened (a redundancy, a role change, a safety or quality incident), and a longer quarterly deep dive collects sector, role, and classification context.

How data is de-identified

Individual answers are never published. The public dashboard shows only aggregate, de-identified statistics: averages, counts, and percentage shares. To prevent any individual from being identified, any cohort or breakdown with fewer than ten responses is suppressed and won't appear in the results. Free-text comments are read and used in our analysis. Short quotes may be published on the dashboard, but only after a manual review that removes names, employers and anything else that could identify the person.

How data is published

The aggregated results are published openly on the results dashboard and are intended to be made available as open data for journalists, researchers, and the public. The goal is to make sure workers' real experiences are represented in public discussions about what "good" or "bad" AI looks like, and not just the claims of vendors and billionaires.

Who can contribute

You don't need to be a union member to contribute, though we'd love it if you were. Anyone working in Australia can sign up and take part. The more people contribute, the clearer the picture becomes.
